Starting from Nairobi you head north to Sweetwater's Reserve on this Over 40's African tour; a chimpanzee sanctuary and a dedicated Black Rhino breeding area. Lake Nakuru is next before crossing into Uganda and visiting Sipi Falls and Jinja, Source of the Nile. From Kampala we travel to the Kibale Forest followed by Queen Elizabeth National Park and a trip up the Kasinga Channel. After passing through Kabale we stop at Lake Bunyoni before crossing into Rwanda, home of the Mountain Gorillas. With the help of local guides we make our way through the dense tropical rain forest to see these magnificent creatures. Last stop is Kigali where we will visit the Genocide Museum and go to the craft market. You will fly out of Kigali airport back to Nairobi and your connecting flight the following morning.
** Part of this trip is dedicated to helping an Orphanage in Ruhengeri. We will spend two days volunteering at the orphanage. You don't need any special skills just a willingness to muck in.

A good level of fitness is required. You need to be sure-footed and be able to walk up rough terrain for up to 4 hours. The treks start at around 2000 metres above sea-level and can go up over 3000 metres so the affects of the high altitude often slows trekkers up. The trek will go at the pace of the slowest walker, stop for regular breathers, and at no time will you be made to rush. Walking sticks are provided. If you would like a porter to carry your day-pack, this is possible for a fee of approx US$10.
