Spending Money and currency
Each country has its own
currency as follows: Kenyan Shilling, Ugandan Shilling, Rwandan Franc.
Money can be changed onto local currency once we arrive in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. Do not leave the country with any local currency. Your guide will assist you in calculating the correct amount to change. Credit cards are generally accepted but travellers’ cheques are not. Outside South Africa ATM machines are difficult to find so please ensure you arrange your spending money prior to departure. It is important that you have spending money in cash in either South African Rand or USD preferably in small denomination notes. Please also note that it is advisable to only take USD printed after 1995 (i.e. big face with watermark & magnetic strip), as money of the countries visited will not take any notes that are from before 1995 due to the high incidences of fraud.
We recommend USD20-30 per day spending money.
ATM’s are very common here now. Most tourists you see are at the ATM not in the bureau or bank. ATM's are available but do not rely on them entirely.T.C’s can be difficult.
We can book pre tour accommodation at the departure hotel for you if you provide us with your arrival details. You will need to pay for your room upon arrival. Post tour accommodation can be booked en-route with the help of your crew.

Requirements change often, so you should consult your nearest embassy prior to departure. The following should be used as a guideline only. Visas are the responsibility of the client when required. The law requires you to carry identification at all times and you may be asked to produce your documents at any time. Rather than carry original documents, make a copy of your passport and other important documents.
Kenya
To enter Kenya, a passport valid for at least six months from date of
entry, and with at least one blank page, is required by all nationals
referred to in the chart above.
Visas:
Visas for Kenya are required by the nationals referred to as Australian,
British, Canadian, Other EU and USA, and may be obtained on entry.
Multiple-entry visas cannot be issued at the point of entry and must be obtained in advance through Kenya’s embassies.
Visa note: Nationals not referred to above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements for Kenya.
Kenya has an agreement with Tanzania and Uganda to waiver visa
re-entry fees if traveling between the three countries as long as
single-entry visas remain valid for each country. This means
multiple-entry visas are not required if going from Kenya to Tanzania or
Uganda and back to Kenya. The same applies for travel from Uganda and
Tanzania.
Types and cost:
Single-entry visa: £30; Multiple-entry visa: £60.
Rwanda
All travelers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days
following your departure date from Rwanda. However, we strongly
recommend traveling with 6 months validity on your passport at all
times.
Most destinations, including Rwanda, require that you have adequate
unused pages in your passport, allowing for any necessary stamps upon
arrival and departure.
Visas for Rwanda are required by all nationals except:
(a) nationals of Germany, Sweden, the UK and the USA (1) for stays up to three months;
(b) transit passengers continuing their journey within 24 hours by the
same or first connecting aircraft, providing they hold onward or return
documentation and do not leave the airport.
Nationals not referred to are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements for Rwanda.
Visa note:
A single-entry visa on arrival is only available to nationals who do not have a Rwandan embassy or consulate in their country.
Uganda
You can obtain the visa at the border. Individuals who are American or
British citizens as well as almost all Commonwealth nations and Europe
need a visa to get to Uganda. You should have the International
Inoculation Certificate against Yellow Fever. You may also be asked to
show your return ticket. A single entry visa will cost US$50 **subject
to change.
If you a a national form the countries below, you do not need a
visa. African countries namely, Zambia, Tanzania, Swaziland, Seychelles,
Rwanda, Madagascar, Mauritius, Malawi, Kenya, Eritrea, Comoros, Burundi
and Angola. Others include st. Vincent and the Grenadines Islands,
