Visa & Passport Information

Passports & Visas - Vietnam

Passports must be valid for 6 months after final departure date. Visitors must obtain visa approval prior to entry. Note: Visitors cannot obtain a visa on arrival and must have either an approved letter or a valid visa on arrival. For security reasons, it is advisable to carry copies of documents rather than originals when in Vietnam.

Visas
Required by all nationals referred to in the chart above except:
(a) 1. nationals of Denmark, Finland and Sweden for stays of up to 15 days;
(b) transit passengers continuing their journey within 24 hours, provided holding valid return or onward tickets. At present, visas can be issued for either groups or individuals.

Note: Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.

Types of Visa and Cost
Costs vary: Tourist: from US$43 (single-entry); from US$48 (express service); from US$50 (multiple-entry). Single-entry Business: from US$48. Multiple-entry Business: from US$95 (three months, multiple-entry); from US$150 (six months, multiple-entry).

Validity
Tourist visas are valid for one month from proposed date of entry. Visas can usually be extended for another month at extra cost.

Working Days Required
Two (tourist visa express application); five (tourist visa), not including postal delivery. Entry visas can be applied for in person up to six months prior to date of travel.


Passports & Visas - Cambodia

A passport with at least six month validity is necessary. A visa is required for most nationalities and is available upon arrival at both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports. A tourist visa costs 20 US$, a business visa 25 US$. Two passport photographs should be submitted with the visa application form.

Note: Visitors arriving by air can obtain a visa for stays of up to 30 days on arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, Phnom Penh or Siem Reap International Airport, Angkor. Visas are also available from Immigration at the border posts of Bavet, Poi Pet and Koh Kong. Visitors are advised to check current situation before traveling. E-Visas are only valid for entry via Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, Cham Yeam land border, Poi Pet land border and Bavet land border.

Validity
All visas are valid for a one month period, and visas issued by the embassy must be used within three months of date of issue. Extensions of up to one extra month for Tourist visas or six or 12 months for Business visas (which can be multiple) may be granted by the Ministry of the Interior at the Immigration Office in Phnom Penh.

Visitors can also apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) online through the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation (website: www.mfaic.gov.kh). At present, visitors traveling on an e-Visa must enter Cambodia at either Phnom Penh International Airport or Siem Reap International Airport. Tourists on package tours will normally have their visas arranged by the tour operator.

Working Days Required
Five from day of receipt of application form. Express visas are issued within 24 hours. E-Visas are issued within three working days; the visa is delivered electronically to the applicant’s mailbox.

***PLEASE NOTE:

All regulations, including those concerning which countries require visas, cost of visas and validity of visas, are subject to frequent change. It is therefore advisable to contact the consular section at the embassy before any travel to Indo-China.
