Types of Visa and Cost
Costs vary: Tourist: from US$43 (single-entry); from US$48
(express service); from US$50 (multiple-entry). Single-entry Business:
from US$48. Multiple-entry Business: from US$95 (three months,
multiple-entry); from US$150 (six months,
multiple-entry).
Validity
Tourist visas are valid for
one month from proposed date of entry. Visas can usually be extended for another
month at extra cost.

Two (tourist
visa express application); five (tourist visa), not including postal delivery.
Entry visas can be applied for in person up to six months prior to date of
travel.
When getting your Laos visa your passport should be valid for six months after your planned date of departure from the country. You can either get your visa in advance at any Lao embassy which will be valid for 30 days. Otherwise you can obtain your visa at the border ‘on arrival’; such a visa will be valid for 30 days and cost depends on your nationality (from 30-42USD). One passport-sized photograph is also required. It is also possible to extend your ‘visa on arrival’ for another 30 days at a cost of about 2USD per day. Otherwise you will be charged 10USD per day by border authorities when you leave the country. Citizens of Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia can travel visa-free in Laos for 30 days.

(a) A 15-day visa on arrival is now available for
nationals arriving at Vientiane International Airport, Luang Prabang
International Airport or Friendship Bridge; visas are not extendable. (b) A
one-month visit visa is available from the Laos embassy provided the
applicant has a guarantor in Laos; visas can be extended by up to a further two
months. (c) A one-month business visa is available from the Laos embassy;
applicants require authorisation from the organisation they will be visiting in
Laos before applying for a visa; visas can be extended until the completion of
business. (d) A five-day transit visa is available for nationals
transiting through Vientiane International Airport; nationals require proof of
onward journey within five days. (d) Multiple-entry visas are only available
from the ministry of foreign affairs in Laos.
A passport with at least six month validity is necessary. A visa is
required for most nationalities and is available upon arrival at both
Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports. A tourist visa costs
20 US$, a business visa 25 US$. Two passport photographs should be
submitted with the visa application form.

Note: Visitors arriving by air can obtain a visa for
stays of up to 30 days on arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, Phnom
Penh or Siem Reap International Airport, Angkor. Visas are also available
from Immigration at the border posts of Bavet, Poi Pet and Koh Kong. Visitors
are advised to check current situation before travelling. E-Visas are only valid
for entry via Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport,
Cham Yeam land border, Poi Pet land border and Bavet land
border.

Validity
All visas
are valid for a one month period, and visas issued by the embassy must be used
within three months of date of issue. Extensions of up to one extra month for Tourist visas or six or 12 months for Business visas (which can be
multiple) may be granted by the Ministry of the Interior at the Immigration
Office in Phnom Penh.

Visitors can
also apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) online through the Cambodian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation (website: www.mfaic.gov.kh). At present,
visitors travelling on an e-Visa must enter Cambodia at either Phnom Penh
International Airport or Siem Reap International Airport. Tourists on package
tours will normally have their visas arranged by the tour operator.
Working Days Required
Five from day of receipt of
application form. Express visas are issued within 24 hours. E-Visas are issued
within three working days; the visa is delivered electronically to the
applicant’s mailbox.
