Inca Discovery

From Lima 

Days 1 & 2:              Accommodation:

Lima Pre-Tour Package - Upon arrival into Lima you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel located in the lovely Miraflores area. The following morning enjoy a half day tour of modern & colonial Lima. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Cusco where you will join your escorted group tour.

Days 2 to 5:              Accommodation:

Escorted Group Tour - Cusco, the archaeological capital of the Americas, is our base to explore the Inca culture and the famous ruins of Machu Picchu. Not only is Cusco stepped in history, tradition and legend, it is also full of great restaurants, lively plazas, art galleries, cathedrals and museums. After ample time to explore Cusco, and acclimatise to the altitude (3,300 m) we head off into the Sacred Valley of the Incas to visit the colonial village of Pisac, famous for its lively market and the massive Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo.

Days 6 to 9:          Accommodation: camping_icon  x 3; Inca Trail   x 2; Hotel

Beginning the famous Inca Trail Trek we head along the Urubamba River, up through valleys and over mountain passes as we wind our way through spectacular cloud forest to reach the ancient Inca Ruins of Machu Picchu. Following the footsteps of the ancient Incas you will be amazed and intrigued to learn from your expert guide all there is to know about this mysterious race.  On the morning of the fourth day we will arrive at the Inca Sun Gate and you will be rewarded with your first view of the magnificent lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the ruins and some time at leisure before returning to Cusco.

Days 10 to 15:          Accommodation:   + 1 night Homestay

We drive south across the Andean plains, where Vacuna and Alpaca roam, to arrive on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Take an overnight trip out on to the lake where we will visit the Islas Uros, where the Uros Indians have made their home on floating reed islands. Arriving to Amantani Island we will enjoy an overnight home stay with a friendly local family and the opportunity to be welcomed into their homes and truly experience their traditional way of life. Visit Taquile Island, famous for its traditional handicrafts and isolated way of life before leaving Peru and cross into La Paz, Bolivia, our final destination.

 From La Paz 

Days 1 to 4:              Accommodation:   + 1 night Homestay

Escorted Group Tour - Our tour commences in the cultural city of La Paz, located in the highlands of Bolivia. We cross the border into Peru and arrive on the shores of Lake Titicaca Amantani Island. Visit Taquile Island, famous for its traditional handicrafts, before we make our way back across the lake to the town of Puno. where we take an overnight trip out on to the lake to visit the Islas Uros, where the Uros Indians have made their home for centuries on floating reed islands. Days 14 to 15:          Accommodation:

Lima Post-Tour Package – From Cusco you will take a short flight to Lima, the colonial capital of Peru. Upon arrival into Lima you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel located in the lovely Miraflores area. Enjoy a half day tour of modern & colonial Lima before departing Peru at the end of an exhilarating and unforgettable Inca adventure.


**Note about Tour Itinerary: It is important that you bear in mind that there is always a certain amount of unpredictability when travelling through a foreign country. Local circumstances can change which may result in your crew making a decision to amend the itinerary. These decisions are never taken lightly and changes made are made with the best interests of the passengers in mind. Please remember that such events occur outside our control and we will always strive to minimize any disruption to the tour.

 **Note about the Inca Trail: Due to tight regulations on the Inca trail availability is limited on a first in first served basis only. We cannot guarantee your place until we have received your booking and deposit and have processed the request for an Inca Trail ticket.  To ensure your space on the trail we advise you book early. However if space is unavailable we offer alternative treks which all include a visit to the ruins Machu Picchu.
