Choosing a travel destination can be quite daunting if you are staring at a world map with nothing but a dart. But we are guessing that by the time you have logged onto the Keystone Journeys site, you will have a pretty good idea of at least the continent you want to visit. We offer tours in Africa, South America, the Middle East and Egypt, Morocco, Central Asia, Antarctica, the Galapagos and New Zealand.
You can opt for an African Overland camping tour or a small group accommodated safari. You can choose a South America Overland tour or a public transport, hotel based tour. In Morocco you can choose to camp or be hotel based. Central Asia offers an exploratory overland tour through some amazing countries and you can visit one of the oldest inhabited cities in the Middle East. Cruise both Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands and then visit New Zealand and traverse the country in the only Overland vehicle in the country.
There is a lot to choose from!
All tours (bar Antarctica and Galapagos) have a minimum age of 18 and no real maximum age. As long as you are fit and healthy, can jump in and out of a truck, can put up your own tent, are aware that your tour may be carrying younger passengers, then you are welcome. The Over 40's Africa Overland tours are designed specifically for passengers who want adventure and overlanding, but would like to travel with other people more in their age range. The Overland tours on this site are not suitable for children, although there are a few companies who have dedicated family overland departures.
We own and operate the New Zealand overland truck (affectionately named Danmar) and company (Overland NZ) but we do not run the other tours on this site ourselves. The companies that actually operate the tours on the ground in South America, Middle East and Egypt, Africa, Morocco and Central Asia are small companies that we respect highly as colleagues. They are companies that we believe have strong travel ethics, a sense of pride in their work and a great passion for the areas they operate in. They are all well established and we have had great pleasure in working with and along side them for many combined years.
We have chosen to work with only two companies in the Galapagos and two who offer cruises to Antarctica.
We are extremely familiar with all the tours offered on the Keystone Journeys site as we have either led tours such as these ourselves, devised tours like these ourselves, travelled on these tours or one of our former trucks drove routes like these.
